THE PROPERTIES OF WOOL
100% NATURAL
Wool is a 100% natural product grown year-round by Australia's 68 million sheep, consuming only water, oxygen and grass.
100% BIODEGRADABLE
When a wool fiber is discarded, it naturally decomposes in the soil, releasing valuable nutrients back into the earth.
100% RENEWABLE
Every year Australian sheep produce a new fleece, making wool a completely renewable fiber.
NATURALLY BREATHABLE
Merino wool is one of the most breathable fibers. Wool fibers can absorb large amounts of moisture vapor and then release it to evaporate into the air.
HOT & COOL TOGETHER
Unlike synthetics, Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. So it helps you stay warm in cold weather and cool in hot weather.
SMELL RESISTANT
Unlike synthetics, Merino wool can absorb moisture vapor which means less sweat on your body. Merino wool even absorbs odor molecules from sweat, which are only released during washing.
GENTLE ON THE SKIN
Merino wool fibers are extremely fine, allowing them to bend much more than traditional, coarse wool fibers. This gives Merino wool a soft and luxurious feel when it comes in contact with your skin.
NATURAL ELASTICITY
The natural elasticity helps Merino wool fabrics stretch with you, but return to their original shape, so Merino wool clothing is ideal for use during exercise.
Australian Merino wool is the finest and softest wool in the world. Its natural benefits are so great that no other fiber – natural or artificial – can match.
A study carried out by researchers at the University of Sydney found that adults wearing woolen underwear fell asleep in just 12 minutes compared to 22 and 27 minutes for those wearing polyester and cotton. "Wool helps regulate your body temperature, keeping you in what's known as the 'thermal comfort zone' for 'more,'" explains Associate Professor Chin Moi Chow. "Therefore, not only do you fall asleep faster, but you also fall asleep more deeply."
